Sit
Now For the Fun stuf! The Basic Manners.
We'll start with sit for this week.
Just Start with these simple steps and you'll have a dog that knows #1 of the 6 basic manners.
1.With your dog in front of you on a leash, have your treats and clicker at hand, show your dog the treat, put it right in front of her nose and let her sniff it a little while raising it slightly above her head.
2. It is recommended that your hand signal for this command is your palm facing up.
3.Do NOT say "sit" before she sits.
4.. Watch for her knees bending and her head staying up, now the second her bottom hits the floor (not any time sooner) say "sit", then click and treat!
5. If your pooch jumps up, simply take your hand away and try again.
6.. Repeat about 15 times with a treat then remove the treat from this session and try 5 more times but continue using the hand signal of course.
