Now For more Fun stuf! The Second Basic Manner.
This Week is down.
Just Start with these simple steps and you'll have a dog that knows #2 of the 6 basic manners.
1.With your dog in front of you on a leash, have your treats and clicker at hand, Have your dog sit, click, guide them down with a treat, you may need to gently help them into position.
2. It is recommended that your hand signal for this command is your palm facing to the ground.
3.Do NOT say "down" before they are down.
4. As soon as they are in full position, say down, then click and treat.
5. If your pooch jumps up, simply take your hand away and try again.
6. Repeat about 9 times with a treat then remove the treat from this session and try 5 more times but continue using the hand signal of course.
7. Some times there may be some problems you run into, so be patient, sometimes this may take longer than 4 days. Don't use force, just guidence with the treat and you may need to hold your hand above thier back
